All club members, their friends, and families are welcome
to participate in the 2009 WARA/CC-ARC Field Day (FD). You don't have to be a contest operator or have HF privileges. In fact, you don't even need a license to participate--you can operate with one of the club's Advanced or Extra Class licensees as the control operator. On-site training will also be provided.
Goals:
- Emergency Preparedness Exercise
- Getting new, inactive, and potential hams on the air
- Presenting amateur radio to the public and to Dexter-Southfield students
- Demonstrating amateur radio's emergency capabilities to Waltham & Brookline EMAs
- Having fun
Basic Operation Details:
- Class 2A
- Two HF stations (W1CLA)
- VHF station (W1CLA)
- GOTA station (W1MHL)
- Simple antennas - all dipoles for HF
- Operation from emergency power - generators & batteries
- Computer logging w/N1MM Logger; training available on-site & possibly in advance
- Cookout/Barbecue for those interested (otherwise, bring your own food or order take-out).

Anyone interested is welcome to visit the FD site. However,
a successful Field Day club operation requires participants willing
to make a commitment to come for at least part of the weekend, preferably
including set-up and/or clean-up. If you would like to participate in
the 2009 WARA/CC-ARC Field Day, or would like more information, please
